The story of the Dholakia Foundation began with the vision of one man, Mr Savji Dholakia, a philanthropist and environmentalist. Dholakia Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Hari Krishna Exports Pvt. Ltd. that works toward promoting sustainable development and building a more equitable world.
His deep love for nature and concern for the environment inspired him. He set out to create India’s leading tree plantation organisation that would make a tangible difference. With the belief that every individual has the power to contribute, Mr. Dholakia laid the foundation of a movement that would plant the seeds of change.
Planting Trees, Growing Communities
The heart of the Dholakia Foundation’s mission is to work toward reforestation and restoration of degraded lands.
We have recognised the critical role trees play in combating climate change, preserving biodiversity, and improving the livelihoods of communities.
The Tree Plantation Drive is an initiative to create greener lands in Gujarat & Maharashtra and restore the Earth’s lungs. It also leverages the overall Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework for Global Corporations.
So far, we have successfully planted over 2.5 million trees across 25 locations in India.
The age of the trees we have planted spans a remarkable range, from 20-year-old saplings to ancient specimens gracing the Earth for over 1500 years.
